動詞choose用法歸納

1. 表示“選擇”，可以帶雙賓語。如：

He chose me a nice present.=He chose a nice present for me. 他為我選了件漂亮的禮物。

比較以下帶復合賓語的情形以及其相關句型：

They chose me chairman.=They chose me as [for] chairman.=They chose me to be chairman. 他們選我當主席。

2. 表示在兩者之間選擇用介詞 between, 表示在三者之間選擇用介詞 among（有時也用其他介詞）。如：

He had to choose between death and dishonour. 他必須在死亡和屈辱之間作出選擇。

He chose three among [from, out of] these books. 他從這些書中挑選了三本。

3. choose表示“選擇”，是指“選擇出來”，而不是指“從……選擇”，所以下面一句句末的介詞不能省略。如：

Here are some books for you to choose from [among]. 這些書可供你選擇。

4. 后可接不定式，可表示“決定做某事”“寧愿做某事”“選擇做某事”。如：

He chose to say nothing. 他寧愿什么都不說。

He chose to go with us. 他決定同我們一起去。

He didn’t choose to marry her. 他不愿同她結婚。

下面兩句not的位置不同，否定的范圍也不同：

He chose not to go home. 他決定不回家了。

He did not choose to help us. 他不愿幫助我們。
