常用詞each用法詳解

1. 關于 each of：其后接的名詞或代詞必須是復數，而不能是單數；其后所接名詞必須要有冠詞、物主代詞、指示代詞等之類的限定詞修飾；反過來，若是名詞前有了限定詞修飾，則必須要用 each of而不能只用 each。如：

正：each of the (my, your, these) students

誤：each the (my, your, these) students（因為沒有of而錯）

誤：each of students（因of后的名詞沒有限定詞而錯）

2. 主語中使用 each 時，需注意以下主謂一致和代詞一致：

(1) 兩個并列的“each+單數名詞”結構用作主語時，謂語通常用單數；其中第二個“each+單數名詞”中的each可以省略，也可換成every。如：

Each boy and (each) girl has a flag in his or her hand. 每個男孩及女孩手上都拿著旗子。

Every hour and every minute is important. 每一小時，每一分鐘，都很寶貴。

(2) 在反意問句中，其謂語可以用單數（強調個體）也可以用復數（強調整體）。如：

Each of the students has seen the film, haven’t they [hasn’t he]? 每個學生都看過這部電影了，是嗎?

(3) 用于復數主語后作同位語，其后的謂語要用復數。如：

We each think the same. 我們大家想到一起了。

比較：Each of us thinks the same. 我們大家想到一起了。

(4) 用代詞代替 each 時，原則上用單數，但有時為了避免男女人稱使用上的不便，也可用復數。如：

Each member of the party must do their best. 隊里每個人都要盡他們所能。

3. 不要因受漢語“每個……都……”的影響，將 each 與 all 連用。如：

學校里的每個孩子都被詢問過了。

誤：Each child in the school was all questioned.

正：Each child in the school was questioned.

但是 each and all 是固定短語，意為“全部”。如：

Each and all have gone to see the play. 大伙都去看戲了。

4. 關于each other：一般認為 each other 指兩者，other another指三者或三者以上。但在實際運用中，這兩個短語常可互換。如：

We see each other [one another] every day. 我們彼此每天都見面。

The sea and the sky seem to melt into one another [each other]. 大海和藍天似乎融為一體。

有時each other和one another還可分開用，但意義不同。如：

Each wished the other to answer first. 每個人都希望對方先回答。

The passengers embarked one after another. 乘客一個接一個地上了船。
