英語哪些名詞是永遠不可數的

英語中有些名詞是永遠不可數的，這類詞在中學英語也不少，但真正常考并且容易出錯的則不多，比較常見的：baggage / luggage(行李), clothing(衣服), furniture(家具), machinery(機器), poetry(詩), scenery(風景), jewelry(珠寶)，equipment(設備)等, 其用法特點為：是不可數名詞，只用單數形式，不用不定冠詞(當然更不能用數詞)，沒有復數形式。如：

How much baggage do you have? 你有多少行李?

They examined all baggage at the airport. 他們在機場檢查了所有行李。

We shared out food and clothing to the poor.  我們把食品與衣服分給窮人。

The storeroom was choked with furniture. 儲藏室塞滿了家具。

The truck conveyed machinery across the country. 這輛卡車在全國各地運送機器。

Learning poetry is a good discipline for the memory. 背詩是訓練記憶的好方法。

The driver stopped now and again so that we could enjoy the scenery. 司機不時地停車，以便讓我們欣賞風景。

Her favorite piece of jewelry is a diamond ring. 她最心愛的一件首飾是一枚鉆戒。

China is becoming a major manufacturer of high-tech equipment. 中國正式成為高科技設備的主要生產國。

注意，machinery, poetry, jewelry, scenery 相應的個體可數名詞是 machine, poem, jewel, scene。如：

a poem / a piece of poetry 一首詩

many machines / much machinery / many pieces of machinery 許多機器
