take it that…的意思與用法

take it that...的意思是“假定……”“猜想……”“認為……”。如：

I take it that we are to leave early. 我想我們動身會很早的。

I take it that you won’t be working tomorrow. 我覺得你明天不會工作了。

I take it that neither of you reads ‘The Times’. 我覺得你們倆都不讀《泰晤士報》。

“I take it that you won’t be back for lunch,” she said as they left.“我想你們不會回來吃午飯了吧。”他們離開時她說道。

有時可以省略 that。如：

I take it you’re a friend of the Kellings, Mr Burr. 伯爾先生，想必您是凱林家的朋友吧？

另外，有時還可以單獨使用，起類似插入語的作用。如：

You speak French, I take it? 我想你會說法語吧？

“You’ve no objection, I take it?”“Of course not.” “我猜你不會反對吧？”“當然不。”
