patient的用法與搭配

1. 用作形容詞，表示“有耐心的”，若指對某人有耐心，其后通常接介詞 with。如：

She’s very patient with young children. 她對幼兒特別有耐心。

Be patient with her—she’s very young. 要對她有耐心——她還很年輕。

表示對某事或某情況有耐心，其后也接介詞with，有時接about。如：

She’s been extremely patient about it all. 她對整件事一直極有耐心。

若指對某事有忍耐力，則通常接介詞of。如：

He is patient of pain. 他能忍受疼痛。

Sailors are patient of hardships. 水手都能吃苦耐勞。

2. 表示有耐心做某事，其后可接不定式，此時的patient之后有時可以帶有副詞enough以加強語氣。如：

He was patient (enough) to wait for her for five hours. 他很有耐心，等了她5個小時。

3. 用作名詞，意為“病人”。如：

When the doctor arrived the patient had died. 醫(yī)生到時病人已死了。

Have the next patient come in now please, nurse. 護士，現(xiàn)在請讓下一位患者進來。
