Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid is used to grilling guests on the sofa every morning, but she is cooking up a storm in her latest role — showing families how to prepare delicious and nutritious meals on a tight budget.

【參考譯文】每天清晨，《早安英國》的主持人蘇珊娜習(xí)慣了坐在沙發(fā)上向節(jié)目嘉賓不停發(fā)問。不過，在其主持的最新的一檔節(jié)目里，她開始大秀起廚藝，向人們展示如何既能少花錢又能烹制出富于營養(yǎng)的美食。

【參考解析】本句是一個由but連接的并列句。難點是對up a storm的理解。這是一個不常見的非正式用法，咱們看看《韋氏高階》的解釋：up a storm--- used to say that something is being done with a lot of energy or enthusiasm 干勁十足地/ 滿腔熱情地 其多見于北美英語，經(jīng)常前面跟talk/ sing/ dance/ cook/ gab/ write...等動詞連用，多用于描述某一特定期間的情況。

【參考解析】本句結(jié)構(gòu)不是很復(fù)雜，主句里出現(xiàn)了一個同位語—Save money: Good Food; 主句后跟了一個由which引導(dǎo)的非限制性定語從句。

注意理解to follow in the footsteps of/ to follow in someone’s footsteps: 繼承，效仿 ，追隨，步人后塵

She followed in her mother's footsteps, starting her own business. 她效法母親開辦了自己的公司。

He followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming a doctor. 他繼承父業(yè)，成了一名醫(yī)生。

In tonight’s Easter special they come to the aid of a family in need of some delicious inspiration on a budget. 【參考解析】這是閱讀B 的最后一段。最難理解的是段首的With food our biggest weekly household expense。這句話是緊接上文（見22.句分析）而來的，上文指出了該系列片在節(jié)目形式的繼承性，本句話接著點明新系列片制作的緣由---保健品是一大花銷，食物更是，因此誕生了該節(jié)目。因此段首的with + 名詞 + 名詞短語 應(yīng)該分析行為with的復(fù)合結(jié)構(gòu)作原因狀語。

Languages have been coming and going for thousands of years, but in recent times there has been less coming and a lot more going.

【參考譯文】幾千年來，語言總是在不斷產(chǎn)生與消失，然而最近其產(chǎn)生得少了，卻消失得多了。

【參考解析】本句話要注意這里的現(xiàn)在完成進行時的理解。這里該時態(tài)表【反復(fù)/重復(fù)】，因此翻譯為“不斷”，此時主語常常為復(fù)數(shù)名詞。這里為languages。
