動詞+ it +if從句(例句均出自詞典)

當某些及物動詞由于語義的因素需要在其后接用if引導的狀語從句時，習慣上要在狀語從句前加一個it——這類及物動詞主要有enjoy, hate, love, like, dislike, appreciate, prefer等。如：

appreciate it if…

I’d appreciate it if you could drop in tonight. 你今晚來一趟我會很感激。

I’ll appreciate it if you will let me know in advance. 如果你事先讓我知道的話，我會很感激的。

I would appreciate it if you would keep me informed. 如蒙你隨時向我通報情況，將非常感激。

We would appreciate it if you would be so kind as to let us have your cheque by return. 如蒙即送支票，我們將不勝感激。

prefer it if… 希望……；要是……就好了

I’d prefer it if I didn’t have to do so much work. 要是我不必做那么多工作，好就太好了。

I should prefer it if you did not go there alone. 我倒希望你不要一個人去那里。

like [love] enjoy it if… 很高興……

We enjoy it if you can go with us. 你若能同我們一起去，那我們就高興了。

hate [dislike] it if… 不高會……；討厭……

He hates it if people call him Fatty. 他討厭別人叫他胖子。
