英語季節名詞的用法與語法

季節名詞指的是spring, summer, autumn, winter四個表示季節的名詞，使用時注意以下幾點：

1. 在泛指的情況下，季節名詞前通常不用冠詞。如：

Spring is my favourite season. 春天是我最喜歡的季節。

The days get shorter as winter approaches. 冬天來臨 白天越來越短了。

The climate here is always hot, summer and winter alike. 這里的氣候總是那么熱, 夏季和冬季都一樣。

2. 若特指某一年的某一季節，則要用定冠詞。如：

3. 當季節名詞前有during, (all) through, throughout, over, most of等詞時，一般要用定冠詞。如：

We’re planning to keep the cottage on over the summer. 我們打算夏天繼續租那座別墅。

4. 當季節名詞前有介詞in時，用不用the均可。如：

In (the) summer we go on holiday. 夏天我們常去度假。

Maple leaves turn red in (the) autumn. 楓葉在秋天變紅了。

In (the) spring leaves begin to grow on the trees. 樹木在春天開始長出葉子。

但如果語境上是特指某一年（如今年或當年等），則通常要用定冠詞。如：

They plan to get married in the summer. 他們打算夏天結婚。

The book will be published in the autumn. 這本書將于秋季出版。

Our new model is already on the stocks and will be available in the autumn. 我們正著手生產一種新的款式，可望在秋季面世。

5. 季節名詞與all連用時，用不用定冠詞均可，但在否定句中一般不用定冠詞。如：

She’ll be coaching all (the) summer. 她整個夏天將要做輔導工作。

I haven’t seen her all autumn. 我整個秋天都沒看到她。

6. 當季節名詞受描繪性定語修飾且表泛指意義時，其前通常要用不定冠詞。如：

We don’t often have a cold winter here. 我們這兒的冬天一般不冷。

They say we’re going to have a hot summer. 據說今年夏天很熱。

當季節名詞受 early, late 修飾時，其前可以用定冠詞，但以不用為多見。如：

He stayed with us until (the) early autumn. 直到初秋他一直和我們待在一起。

The lake was frozen over until late spring. 那湖全讓冰封住了，到晚春才解凍。
