3. 錯。bring out 與 take out 不是反義詞，并且當(dāng)它們表示“拿出”時是一組同義詞。如：He took out [brought out] his dictionary and looked the word up in it. 他拿出詞典來查這個詞。

4. 錯。slow up 與 slow down 不是反義詞，并且當(dāng)它們表示“(使)慢下來”“(生意)淡下來”時是一組同義詞。如：The car slowed down [up]. 汽車放慢了速度。Don’t slow up [down] now! 現(xiàn)在別慢下來。Business slowed up [down] after Christmas. 圣誕節(jié)后生意清淡了。

5. 錯。當(dāng)and用于 good, nice, fine 等之后時，它不再表示“和”，而是與之一起構(gòu)成習(xí)語，表示“很”“挺”。如：It’s good and warm in the room. 這房里很暖和。It’s nice and cool under the tree. 這樹下很涼快。The book is nice and expensive. 這本書很貴。

6. 錯。當(dāng)since用作連詞時它有這樣一個特點：它所引導(dǎo)的時間狀語從句的謂語通常應(yīng)是非延續(xù)性動詞，如果是延續(xù)性動詞或狀態(tài)動詞，那么它所表示的通常是動作或狀態(tài)的完成或結(jié)束(而不是其開始)。如 I haven’t heard from him since he lived in Beijing 的意思是“自從他離開北京以來，我一直未收到他的信”，而不是“自從他住在北京以來，我一直未收到他的信”(live的結(jié)束就是leave)。若要表示從句中的動作或狀態(tài)延續(xù)至今，就應(yīng)該用持續(xù)性動詞的現(xiàn)在完成時，而不是用一般過去時。如：I haven’t had a good meal (ever) since I’ve been here. 我自從來到這里后還沒吃過一頓好的。所以He hasn’t come to see me since I was ill 的意思不是“自從我生病以來他還沒有來看過我”，而是“自從我病好以來他還沒有來看過我”。

7. 錯。要表示漢語的“希望某人做某事”，可以說wish sb to do sth，但是不能說 hope sb to do sth。若要用 hope可用hope for sb to do sth或后接賓語從句，如“我們希望他能及時趕到”可譯為We hope for him to arrive in time.或 We hope that he can arrive in time.

8. 錯。要表示漢語的“建議某人做某事”，可以說advise sb to do sth，但不能說 suggest sb to do sth。若要用 suggest，可后接動名詞或賓語從句，如“他建議我們買臺電腦”可譯為He suggested our buying a computer 或He suggested that we (should) buy a computer.

9. 錯。漢語可說“雖然……但是……”，但英語不能將其直譯為although…but…，所以“雖然他很年輕，但很能干”不能譯為 Although he is young, but he is able. 但是，But I didn’t know that then, although I learned it later(但我當(dāng)時的確不知道此事，盡管后來我還是知道了)卻是一句地道的英語，因為句首的but 表示與前文轉(zhuǎn)折，其后的 I didn’t know that then, although I learned it later 仍為一個完全的復(fù)合句。又如：I tried doing the accounts, but although I knew some maths I found it very difficult. 我試著算這些賬，但盡管我懂點數(shù)學(xué)，仍感到很困難。此句也可改寫為 I tried doing the accounts, but I found it very difficult although I knew some maths.

10. 錯。這里的as…so…不是表示“因為……所以……”，而是表示“正如……一樣，……”。As you like music, so I like poetry 的意思是“正如你喜歡音樂一樣，我喜歡詩歌”。又如：As the Americans like baseball, so the British like soccer. 正如美國人喜歡棒球一樣，英國人喜歡足球。
