3.6.含有that習語的用法 ——and all that 和and that “等等,諸如此類” 用于表示列舉未盡。 I’m not a cook myself but I’m interested in nutrition and that. You must go home, and that at once. 相當于You must go home , and you must go home at once. He is now seven, and yet can do nothing but write his own name, and that very poorly. ——at that (1)“此外;而且”(in addition, furthermore), 用于陳述之后,修飾或強調所說的話。例如: “I do look forward to working on that puzzle some more.” “— It might be fun, at that.” I made a mistake, and a very bad mistake at that. She suggested we should bring the car, and it’s not a bad idea at that. 例如: “You just like lying around doing nothing.” “ Perhaps I do, at that.” Let it go at that.和 Let it at that. We’ll never agree, so let it at that. ——for all (that) “盡管……”。 For all that, it was a good year. For all (that) you say, I still like her. He has great power and wealth, but is still unhappy for all that. ——Is that so?“是那樣嗎?”“是真的嗎?” But those opportunities might not be yours. They might belong to somebody else. How will you grab them then?' He leaned closer.' I'll tell you a little secret,' he said softly.' Opportunities belong to the people who take them.'' Is that so?' she said, heart thudding.' Oh, yes,' he murmured, and he was no longer smiling.' ——like that 這樣。 Don’t hold it like that— you’ll break it. It would be a shame to deceive your own people like that. ——just like that 就那樣。 Just like that, I was in love… You mean he sent you back just like that? ——That does it. He threw in cuts of lamb, the chopped up bits of onion, carrot and potato, covered it all with salted water, and put the casserole into the oven. “That does it,” he said. That does it! All you can ever do is criticize. that is可用在句末。 It’s now exactly twenty-eight minutes past four. That is to say, the doctor’s been gone two hours and thirteen minutes. John is a New Yorker; that is, he lives in New York . She’s a housewife—when she’s not teaching English, that is.
