8. download  

(1) 用作動詞，意為“下載”，可及物或不及物。如：

Wait until it’s finished downloading. 等它下載完畢。

Do you want to download all these files? 你想下載所有這些文件嗎？

Everything we download from the Internet is automatically filtered through our virus software. 我們從因特網上下載的所有東西殺毒軟件都會自動進行過濾。

(2) 用作名詞，意為“下載”“下載的東西”，可用作可數或不可數名詞。如：

The download failed. 下載失敗。

If you are prompted to download language support components, click Download. 如果系統提示您下載語言支持組件,請單擊“下載”。（第一個download是動詞，第二個download是名詞）

9. email

(1) 用作名詞，意為“電子郵件”，可用作可數或不可數名詞。如：

I sent her an email yesterday. 我昨天給她發了電子郵件。

Email is great for keeping in touch. 電子郵件對于保持聯系十分有用。

Send an email to the above address to report a broken link 如果鏈接不正常，請給上面的地址發郵件報告情況。

注意以下有用搭配：

① email address 郵箱地址

My email address is on my business card. 我的名片上有我的email地址。

Let me take your email address. 讓我來記下你的郵箱地址。

② by [via] email 通過電子郵件

We stay in contact by email. 我們用電子郵件保持聯系。

Are you contactable by [via] e-mail? 可以通過電子郵件與你聯系嗎?

(2) 用作動詞，為及物動詞，通常用于email sb, email sb sth, email sb about sth等句式。如：

You can e-mail me the list. 你可以把名單用郵件發給我。

I’ll email her about it, and copy you in. 我會給她發電子郵件，并抄送給你一份。

She emailed her husband that she had passed the entry examination. 她發電子郵件告知其丈夫，她通過了入學考試。(H6)

10. hack

hack 的本意指“劈”“砍”等。如：

He was hacking at a tree. 他正在砍樹。

在計算機語言中指“非法侵入他人計算機系統”，通常譯為“侵入”“非法浸入”“竊取”等。如：

He hacked into the bank’s computer. 他侵入了這家銀行的計算機。

They had hacked secret data. 他們竊取保密資料。

Two British youths were caught hacking into government computers. 兩名英國青年被發現非法侵入政府計算機系統。

短語hack into 意思是“私自存取或篡改(他人電腦資料)”。如：

They hack into banks and transfer huge amounts of cash. 他們侵入銀行的電腦系統并轉走了大量的現金。

由hack派生來的名詞hacker意為“黑客”。如：

A hacker had managed to get into the system. 有個黑客設法進入了系統。
