（二）非謂語動詞形式問題

漢語中動詞有連動式或兼動式的用法，但英語中，一個句子只能有一個謂語或并列謂語動詞，其它動詞應采用非謂語動詞形式，如不定式或分詞結構。以下句子就存在這方面的問題。

15. In these lines the palatal frictives / z / and / ʤ / contribute not to softness but to harshness and hoarseness, makes the line difficult to pronounce smoothly. (p. 65)

【問題分析】本句的謂語動詞為contribute，動詞make部分內容在本句中起補充說明作用，因此應改為現在分詞結構，即making。
